Junctions along Upper Chorlton Road created conflict points where turning vehicles crossed the cycle lane Cyclists were exposed to risk at these turning movements, with no physical separation in place The solution needed to be quick to deploy without excavation or prolonged road closures Units needed to be compact enough for junction geometry and light enough for a single installer

The Solution

NCLD Lite units installed at key junction turning points along Upper Chorlton Road Each 1m unit weighs 24kg, allowing a single operative to carry, position and fix each one Units surface-mounted using structural adhesive with no excavation or road closure required Compact 1m length allows precise positioning around junction radii and tight geometry

Results

• NCLD Lite units successfully deployed at junction conflict points along the route
• Physical kerb-height separation now deters vehicles from encroaching into the cycle lane at turns
