The junction outside Calderdale College is used daily by students, residents, and visitors. Over time, the existing traffic islands had deteriorated to the point where they were no longer providing clear, effective crossing points for pedestrians.

Rosehill’s solid rubber traffic islands were installed to replace the failing units, creating safer crossing points while helping to channel traffic through the junction more effectively. The surface-mounted design allowed installation without excavation, minimising disruption on this busy urban road while accommodating standard keep-left signage for approaching drivers.

Manufactured from 100% recycled rubber, the islands are designed for long service life and can be removed, relocated, or reconfigured if future changes to the road layout are required.

For local authorities, that means safer crossings today, with the flexibility to adapt tomorrow.
